Westmoreland Cultural Trust is once again participating in Westmoreland Day of Giving Tuesday, May 3. Day of Giving is a 16‐hour, online giving event hosted by The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County (CFWC), as part of The Pittsburgh Foundation’s annual event, with hopes of furthering a collective culture of philanthropy in our region. The goal is simple – inspire western Pennsylvanians to come together, show their pride in their communities, and contribute to support the life‐changing work of local nonprofit organizations. This seventh annual Day of Giving will take place Tuesday, May 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Donations will be accepted during this 16‐hour period through www.westmorelandgives.org.

Westmoreland County organizations have a $50,000 match pool provided by the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County and its donors with contributions matched on a pro‐rated basis. There is no limit to the amount a nonprofit may raise on Day of Giving. A donor may give $25 to $1,000 to any organization, and it will count towards the match pool. Donations are 100% tax deductible.

The date for this event is in conjunction with the national Give Local America event, in which 180 community foundations participate in a 24-hour crowdfunding process designed to empower every person to give back to their local communities by supporting organizations they trust to tackle today’s most critical issues.
