GET THE LED OUT
The American Led Zeppelin

Thursday, November 4 at 7:30pm
$20,
$22, $28
The Palace Theatre

Presented by
Westmoreland Cultural Trust

GET THE LED OUT took the show on the road in 2004. Now dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” GTLO presents a two hour+ set that spans the mythic career of the legendary British supergroup. With Musician Paul Sinclair and Guitarist Paul Hammond, the addition of Adam Ferraioli on drums, Jimmy Marchiano on guitar, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Lipke (keys, guitar, vocals, percussion etc.), and Billy Childs on bass, GTLO’s mission finally came into focus: to recreate on stage the complete sound of Led Zeppelin’s recordings with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed live. Oh, and without the wigs.

The critics are raving. The Patriot News, Central Pennsylvania’s leading news source, heralds, “Get The Led Out didn’t just pass Zeppelin 101 with flying colors -- they’re working on their Ph.D. They didn’t just do their Zep homework -- they’re teaching the class.”

“This primo jump blues band has it all: an amazing rhythm section, awesome sax playing, fabulous guitar, a killer frontman, and fantastic songs. And more than all that, these guys have the ability to cross over from jump blues to swing to rock and back again, often within the same track.” The Gas House Gorillas are fearlessly uninhibited performers and a sure fire guarantee for a rippin’ good time!

Fast forward to the 21st century where Neon Swing X-perience is harkening back to (and reinventing) the sounds of the ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s. Walking into a Neon Swing show is like stepping back in time – to an era where music was hot, martinis were strong, zoot suits were sharp, and romance was sparked on the dance floor.

Singer-songwriter Dan Hicks is truly an American original. Since the early 1960s, Hicks has deftly blended elements of Swing, Jazz, Folk and Country music to create the appealing sound he sometimes calls "Folk Jazz". The lyrics of his songs range from the simply sublime to the sublimely ridiculous, all presented with his uniquely skewed and inscrutable touch. Dan's irresistible sense of rhythm, hip lyrical styling, laid-back vocalizing, and infamous on-stage wit will make most who listen fans for life.
