Country music hitmaker Phil Vassar is a piano-pounding powerhouse on stage who taps into his audiences via social media for song requests throughout his more than 135 shows a year. Phil’s reign of signature songs includes 10 No. 1 singles and 26 Top 40 hits, including Carlene, Just Another Day in Paradise, Six-Pack Summer, When I Love You; and many more. Vassar was racking up hits on the radio long before he even began his own recording career that has seen the release of six albums, two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year trophies, ACM’s Top New Male Vocalist and sold-out shows across the country. Vassar’s songwriting career blossomed in the mid-’90s when he landed a publishing contract with EMI and penned hits for Collin Raye (Little Red Rodeo), Alan Jackson (Right on the Money), Tim McGraw (For a Little While), Jo Dee Messina (Bye Bye, Alright), and Blackhawk (Postmarked Birmingham). He signed a record deal of his own with Arista in 1998 and was named ASCAP’s Country Songwriter of the Year in 1999.

Vassar continues to churn out incisive, soulful lyrics and infectious melodies that capture the heart and soul in the unique and special way that only he can.

Opening act: Michael Christopher

Michael Christopher found perseverance and grit during his childhood growing up in rural Pennsylvania, and the lessons he learned along the way would be right at home in the lyrics of today’s most popular country music.

For the last decade, Michael’s focus and passion have been on music: writing, singing, and performing in clubs, amphitheaters, and festivals across the country.  His guitar-heavy, rock-edged sound intertwines with invocative lyrical virtuosity and positions him with elite company in the country music scene.

For his new self-titled album, each song represents a story, a philosophy:  it ventures into a new realm of country music.  With songs like “Mix It Up,” “Weeknight,” and “Looks Like Rain,” Michael incorporated the traditional elements of the genre with an edgier sound, ultimately offering an album that is relevant to fans of all ages, styles, and generations.

“There is something for everyone on this record.  We really tried to offer a perspective, a sound, and a voice that is relatable for everyone…no matter what you’re feeling, no matter what you’ve been through…this record has something for you,” mentions Michael.

With a new album complete and a full tour schedule, Michael Christopher continues to excel on his way to the next chapter of his career.
