On Friday, September 20, Westmoreland Cultural Trust will pair hard-hitting blues and grilled smoky flavor with local brewery creations for their new event, Blues, Brews and BBQ.  The celebration will launch the beginning of Greensburg Craft Beer Week, a 9-day event showcasing breweries, restaurants and local businesses throughout the greater Greensburg area. The event will be held from 6 – 10 PM in WCT’s Art in the Alley and the Helman-Ghrist Parking Lot.  VIP guests will receive early access at 5:30 PM.

“We are excited to host the upcoming Blues, Brews & BBQ event,” stated Westmoreland Cultural Trust Board Chairman Terry Reese. “Working with our Westmoreland County cultural partners, we aim to continue making Westmoreland County a destination for cultural enrichment and just plain fun. Please join us and enjoy the art, entertainment and food that is unique to Westmoreland County.”

Blues sounds will be heard courtesy of The Aris Paul Band.  Aris Paul comes from a musical family.  His father was a musician and touring guitarist in the 70s and 80s and owns Pittsburgh blues bar Excuses Bar and Grill on the South Side.  In 2016, Aris won the WYEP Dos Equis Singer-Songwriter of the Year competition for his blues composition, “Rambler’s Creed.”

Featured beers from Four Seasons Brewing Company, Quinn Brewing Company, Sobel’s Obscure Brewery and Whitehorse Brewing Company will be available for purchase from the Drafts Streets Beer Wagon.  In addition, a variety of Bella Terra Vineyards wines will also be available.

The aroma of brisket, pulled pork, cornbread and other barbeque fare from Grateful Smoke BBQ and Elegant Catering will tempt eventgoers throughout the evening.

Tickets are $10 and include one 16 oz. craft beer, live entertainment, cash bar and bbq for purchase.  Guests may opt to purchase a VIP ticket for $50 and take advantage of early access at 5:30 PM, VIP tent/seating, a commemorative cup, unlimited craft beer sampling from 5:30 – 6:30 PM, light bites, and bbq samples.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.westmorelandculturaltrust.org and at The Palace Theatre Box Office in person or by phone at 724-836-8000.  A $5 designated driver ticket is also available.
