The coronavirus pandemic has altered the landscape of the arts community. Organizations, including Westmoreland Cultural Trust, are dealing with the postponement and/or rescheduling of numerous performances during the next few months.  Your support now can help us to weather the storm and ensure that the doors are open and the stage lights are on once this has passed.

The CARES Act creates a new above-the-line deduction (universal or non-itemizer deduction that applies to all taxpayers) for total charitable contributions of up to $300. The incentive applies to cash contributions made in 2020 and can be claimed on tax forms next year. The law also lifts the existing cap on annual contributions for those who itemize, raising it from 60 percent of adjusted gross income to 100 percent. For corporations, the law raises the annual limit from 10 percent to 25 percent. Please consult your tax advisor for full details.

Your donation to Westmoreland Cultural Trust assures that art continues to be at the heart of our community. Whether on the stage or on a canvas, art has the power to bring people together across boundaries and enrich the lives of those who experience it.

Your contribution will assist us with the operations of The Palace Theatre, the region’s premier performing arts venue offering nationally touring concerts, comedy, musical theatre, dance, and family shows and home to regional music, dance and theatre organizations. In addition, your generous donation will help us to continue to host free arts-centered community events, showcase the works of local visual artists through initiatives such as Art in the Alley and Wings Across Westmoreland and assist in facilitating our Incubator for the Arts program.
