Event Associate, Greensburg Garden & Civic Center

Westmoreland Cultural Trust is seeking a highly motivated person to take the next step in the hospitality field. The Event Associate reports directly to the WCT Manager of Events & Facilities for Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. Responsible for event set-up, tear-down, and clean-up, and maintains the interior of the building and exterior grounds by providing light housekeeping services in support of regular building tenants and special occasion public and private events.

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform job duties with the visitor’s experience in mind.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the interior and exterior of the facility.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a service position.
  • Commitment to providing excellent service and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative in performing job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds.

Special Requirements

  • Valid PA driver’s license – must arrive promptly and be reliable.
  • May be exposed to heights in performing job duties.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in performing job duties when necessary.
  • Available to work day and evening hours and on weekends.
  • The position is Part-Time with the potential to become Full-Time with benefits.

Business Manager, Westmoreland Cultural Trust

The Business Manager plays a critical role on our leadership team and will serve as a partner to our Controller and CEO.  WCT Business Manager is responsible for the administrative functions of the office, Quick Books entries and Box Office transactions. This is a key role, not only for keeping our office operations organized and updated but also for assisting the Controller with organization-wide financial strategy and ensuring all program teams are aligned under a common vision. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, plan and execute plans, procedures, and policies, are highly valued.

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the administrative functions of the office
  • Complete accounting tasks (Quickbooks) assist with budgets, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, Patron Manager reporting, entries and balancing, credit card and ATM balancing, bank deposits.
  • Assist with implementing new policies and procedures and ensure current policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Set business goals and objectives according to company’s needs and ensure that WCT program managers are on track to meet financial goals and business objectives.
  • Create business plans and develop business strategies to achieve the business goals
  • Design daily operational programs that produce organizational objectives
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of company operations
  • Build long-term relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Ensure that company has the adequate and suitable resources needed to complete its activities
  • Collect, research, track and analyze relevant business data
  • Write and present reports with findings and insights
  • Perform complex analysis of overall company performance

Qualifications

  • Accounting or Finance certification or a minimum of an Associate’s Degree
  • Grants Management Certification and Non-Profit experience preferred.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Proficient computer skills using MS Office and Windows-based accounting software.
  • Strong financial skills to assist with developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting.

Controller, Westmoreland Cultural Trust

The Controller plays a critical role on our leadership team and will serve as a thought partner to our CEO on long-term strategy. WCT Controller is responsible for fiscal planning and operations, which includes accounting, budgeting, business planning and administration. This is a key role, not only for keeping our accounting highly organized, but also for setting organization-wide financial strategy and ensuring all program teams are aligned under a common vision. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to all levels of staff and our Board of Directors, are highly valued. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Directs preparation and administration of the WCT combined annual budget applying knowledge of various grants, funding contracts, planning and development programs and property fiscal management. 
  • Directs and manages all financial activities of the organization and all of its operations: budgeting, financial statements and reports, 990 tax return coordination, audit coordination, purchasing, cash management, investments, treasury and banking according to Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). 
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements and annual reports according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  • Responsible for completion of performance measures as part of monthly financial statements. 
  • Directs grant and contract administration and reporting in compliance with stated guidelines. 
  • Designs, reviews, and implements internal control relevant to the preparation and fair presentation of financial statements. 
  • Directs and manages all agency risk management assuring proper and sufficient coverage for employees, members, officers, and directors. 
  • Serves on the WCT Simple IRA Committee and as the Plan Administrator for the plan. 
  • Directs the contract administrative functions of the organization. 
  • Prepares, coordinates, and assists external auditors in the preparation of the agency annual Single Audit Report with required supplementary information and supporting schedules. 
  • Prepares and reviews annually the organization’s indirect cost allocation and rate plan assuring sufficient indirect rate to cover indirect expenses. 
  • Reviews all grant proposals, grant budgets and financial reports prior to submission. 
  • All other duties as assigned by the CEO. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Accounting or Finance major, or related field. CPA and/or MBA desirable. 
  • Grants Management Certification and Non-Profit experience preferred. 
  • At least 7 years of progressive management experience. 
  • Proficient with QuickBooks and MS Office, most notably Excel.  
  • Experience with Salesforce,and/or  Patron Manager highly desired. 
  • Strong financial analysis and management skills including developing and monitoring budgets, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making a must.

Digital Marketing Associate, Westmoreland Cultural Trust

  The Digital Marketing Associate will inspire cultural growth in the region through successful digital, communication, and branding strategies. The position will create an engaging social media and web presence for Westmoreland Cultural Trust, The Palace Theatre and Greensburg Garden & Civic Center and assist the team with content marketing campaigns to promote all aspects of the arts including national touring performances, visual art initiatives, and community events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage overall presence on all social media platforms by capturing and creating engaging content (photos, video, graphics, etc.) to retain our customer base and increase traffic.
  • Maintain and closely monitor social media calendar
  • Update and promote The Palace Theatre mobile app to increase usage and acquire new users
  • Prepare email marketing campaigns
  • Assist the team with web development/updates
  • Use analytics tools to track social media and web engagement and share metrics on performance
  • Assist with digital advertisements through Google AdWords, Facebook, etc.
  • Share creative ideas to help grow our brand

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) with success in promoting various businesses/organizations
  • Experience in email marketing and web development (WordPress)
  • Experience using analytics tools such as Google and Facebook Analytics to steer marketing decisions
  • Desire to create engaging and compelling content to help grow our brand
  • Strong organization skills and attention to details
  • Excellent copywriting and proofing skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience with editing software and/or apps (Photoshop, etc.)
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate special events
  • Video editing skills, a plus

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Social Media & Communications Internship

Are you creative, social media savvy, and love the arts? Westmoreland Cultural Trust is looking for an eager-to-learn social media and communications intern with excellent writing skills to join our team and assist in inspiring cultural growth in the region. The position will oversee all social media accounts for Westmoreland Cultural Trust, The Palace Theatre and Greensburg Garden & Civic Center and assist in developing successful digital branding and marketing strategies. This opportunity will involve promoting all aspects of the arts including national touring performances, visual art initiatives, and community events.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the marketing team to develop social media strategies
  • Writes copy for social media messaging and schedules content
  • Maintains and closely monitors social media calendar
  • Captures and creates engaging content for social media (photos, video, graphics, etc.)
  • Assists in tracking social media engagement
  • Assists with other projects as needed, such as online calendar updates, e-newsletters, and other marketing promotions.
