Director of Finance

Westmoreland Cultural Trust (WCT) is a regional leader in arts, culture and economic development and operates the historic Palace Theatre and the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center.  WCT is looking for a dynamic Controller to join our team and assist in continuing to inspire cultural and economic growth in the region.

The Director of Finance plays a critical role on our leadership team and will serve as a thought partner to our CEO on long-term strategy. WCT Director of Finance is responsible for fiscal planning and operations, which includes accounting, budgeting, business planning and administration. This is a key role, not only for keeping our accounting highly organized, but also for setting organization-wide financial strategy and ensuring all program teams are aligned under a common vision. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to all levels of staff and our Board of Directors, are highly valued.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directs preparation and administration of the WCT combined annual budget applying knowledge of various grants, funding contracts, planning and development programs and property fiscal management.
  • Directs and manages all financial activities of the organization and all of its operations: budgeting, financial statements and reports, 990 tax return coordination, audit coordination, purchasing, cash management, investments, treasury and banking according to Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements and annual reports according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Responsible for completion of performance measures as part of monthly financial statements.
  • Directs grant and contract administration and reporting in compliance with stated guidelines.
  • Designs, reviews, and implements internal control relevant to the preparation and fair presentation of financial statements.
  • Directs and manages all agency risk management assuring proper and sufficient coverage for employees, members, officers, and directors.
  • Serves on the WCT Simple IRA Committee and as the Plan Administrator for the plan.
  • Directs the contract administrative functions of the organization.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and assists external auditors in the preparation of the agency annual Single Audit Report with required supplementary information and supporting schedules.
  • Prepares and reviews annually the organization’s indirect cost allocation and rate plan assuring sufficient indirect rate to cover indirect expenses.
  • Reviews all grant proposals, grant budgets and financial reports prior to submission.
  • All other duties as assigned by the CEO.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Accounting or Finance major, or related field. CPA and/or MBA desirable.
  • Grants Management Certification and Non-Profit experience preferred.
  • At least 7 years of progressive management experience.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks and MS Office, most notably Excel.
  • Experience with Salesforce,and/or  Patron Manager highly desired.
  • Strong financial analysis and management skills including developing and monitoring budgets, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making a must.

Event Associate, Palace Theatre, Part Time

Westmoreland Cultural Trust is seeking highly motivated people to take the next step in the hospitality field in a part-time position.Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Event Support and cleaning in the performing arts center.
  • Perform job duties with the visitor’s experience in mind, contributing to the team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of The Palace Theatre interior and exterior, including all public spaces and restrooms.
  • Event support at public and private events including moving banquet tables and chairs, executing open/close procedures.
  • Inventory supplies, restocking.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to providing excellent service with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Cheerful disposition and ability to work well with the public, self-motivated with attention to detail, highly organized and efficient.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience helpful in Housekeeping, Facilities Coordination, or Supply Management.
  • Lifting/moving supplies up to 35 pounds.

Flexible schedule: day/evening/weekends.

Age 18+

Job Types: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 per hour

Westmoreland Cultural Trust Facilities Assistant

The Facilities Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining facilities in heart of downtown Greensburg PA. The Facilities Assistant will work with the current manager to perform and oversees tasks related to electrical, security, environmental, and sanitation. assist tenants with maintenance requests and oversee the process of preparing properties for new tenants. This employee will work closely to address building and tenant issues. Their job is to assist the manager with maintaining relationships with local vendors such as landscaping, plumbing, or electrical services to coordinate routine or emergency requests from tenants. This position is a great opportunity for an individual to put basic knowledge into practice with facility maintenance and repairs. The Facilities Assistant reports to the Manager of Facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform a variety of scheduled equipment activities, preventive, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Performs maintenance of building, plumbing systems, electrical systems, landscaping, and parking areas.
  • Performs equipment maintenance and repair requests.
  • Prepares and presents information concerning operational effectiveness and service levels to upper management.
  • Responsible to manage the cleaning and care for buildings, facilities, and grounds in order to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner.
  • Maintains spare parts and supplies inventory.
  • Performs the Inspection of machines and equipment and other equipment periodically to determine maintenance needs.
  • Create & implements programs, schedules, and procedures required to ensure building and facilities cleanliness.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Receives authorization to schedule work of contractors.
  • Ability to interface with governmental agencies such as Building and Fire Inspectors in a proactive and open dialogue.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, establishing such, meeting scheduling and holding technicians to commitments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance programs and procedures preferred.
  • Computer efficiency in word, excel and other database spreadsheet programs preferred.
  • Intermediate understanding of 3-phase electrical and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedures manuals is required.
  • Position may require travel to other Westmoreland Cultural Trust-owned properties
  • This position is a full-time hourly position working 40 hours per week
  • Must be available evenings and weekends for on-call and necessary repairs

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of a technical program in HVAC, plumbing or machine maintenance or comparable training or experience
