Event Associate, Greensburg Garden & Civic Center

Westmoreland Cultural Trust is seeking a highly motivated person to take the next step in the hospitality field. The Event Associate reports directly to the WCT Manager of Events & Facilities for Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. Responsible for event set-up, tear-down, and clean-up, and maintains the interior of the building and exterior grounds by providing light housekeeping services in support of regular building tenants and special occasion public and private events.

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform job duties with the visitor’s experience in mind.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the interior and exterior of the facility.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a service position.
  • Commitment to providing excellent service and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative in performing job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds.

Special Requirements

  • Valid PA driver’s license – must arrive promptly and be reliable.
  • May be exposed to heights in performing job duties.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in performing job duties when necessary.
  • Available to work day and evening hours and on weekends.
  • The position is Part-Time with the potential to become Full-Time with benefits.

House Manager - Box Office Associate, The Palace Theatre

Westmoreland Cultural Trust is seeking responsible, dependable, customer service-oriented Box Office Associates for The Palace Theatre to work rotational shifts as House Manager and/or Box Office ticketing staff, full-time and/or part-time positions available.

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process ticket orders via phone and in person, and assist with other daily box office operations.
  • Responsible for frequent customer/guest and client interactions as House Manager to ensure and provide legendary service from event ticketing to the guest experience on site during shows.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer/keyboard and math skills are essential, as well as problem-solving skills.
  • Team player who works well with and will supervise others, including volunteers, during events. Personable and customer-driven.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Motivated to complete tasks and work independently (after training).

Education and Experience

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Data entry and call center experience are a plus.

Job Type: Full-time including benefits, or part-time (average 20/hrs wk)

Event Associate, The Palace Theatre

Westmoreland Cultural Trust is seeking highly motivated people to take the next step in the hospitality field, in a full-time or part-time position.

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Event Support and cleaning in performing arts center.
  • Perform job duties with the visitor’s experience in mind, contributing to the team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of The Palace Theatre interior and exterior, including all public spaces and restrooms.
  • Event support at public and private events including moving banquet tables and chairs, executing open/close procedures.
  • Inventory supplies, restocking.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to providing excellent service with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Cheerful disposition and ability to work well with the public, self-motivated with attention to detail, highly organized and efficient.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience helpful in Housekeeping, Facilities Coordination, or Supply Management.
  • Lifting/moving supplies up to 35 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule: day/evening/weekends.
  • Must be 18 or older.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Social Media & Communications Internship

Are you creative, social media savvy, and love the arts? Westmoreland Cultural Trust is looking for an eager-to-learn social media and communications intern with excellent writing skills to join our team and assist in inspiring cultural growth in the region. The position will oversee all social media accounts for Westmoreland Cultural Trust, The Palace Theatre and Greensburg Garden & Civic Center and assist in developing successful digital branding and marketing strategies. This opportunity will involve promoting all aspects of the arts including national touring performances, visual art initiatives, and community events.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the marketing team to develop social media strategies
  • Writes copy for social media messaging and schedules content
  • Maintains and closely monitors social media calendar
  • Captures and creates engaging content for social media (photos, video, graphics, etc.)
  • Assists in tracking social media engagement
  • Assists with other projects as needed, such as online calendar updates, e-newsletters, and other marketing promotions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Strong organization skills and attention to details
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must have your own computer and cell phone
  • Experience with editing software and/or apps (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
  • Desire to create engaging and compelling content to help grow our brand
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate special events
